Description

My mom's been asking me to paint Superman for her.
:)

I used a photo of Christopher Reeve and kind of "comic'd" him up a bit.

Huh. I would have guessed your reference was from the animated series, actually. Mainly because of the colossal jaw (which is a plus). I'm really digging the fact that his expression is so hard to read, at least from my perspective. The way you've done the colors, particularly the hair, gives him an element of graceful age. Another thing I like is that you've done is that you haven't stressed the muscles too much. With a character like Superman, I would imagine it becomes easy to buff him up without giving it too much thought. And lastly, I like how the S symbol is just the right size and not overbearing like it was on the Superman Returns costume.

Oh, and props for the classic costume rather than the New 52 - that's automatic. I'm not a big fan of the "body-armor" kind of costumes that seem to be all the rage in reboots right now.

...Let's just say the Man of Steel and I have a history. haha
